According to eMarketer, web video is going from a luxury to a near necessity as a more and more companies use it for marketing purposes. This trend is in response to consumers who are accessing increasing amounts of video on multiple platforms, from laptops and home PCs to smartphones and tablets. As these devices continue to penetrate the market, consumers will expect ubiquitous access to video content by, for example, watching product videos at the point of sale by scanning a barcode with a smartphone.
